“It’s an exciting time to be a car enthusiast”
Chris, you are known for your passion for cars. When you start the engine and begin driving, what kind of feelings do you get?
Power, freedom, comfort, and independence. I love driving. It’s truly one of my favorite activities. And I’ve always loved going fast. For me, cars represent the perfect blend of form and function. A vehicle with an elevated design that also offers the thrill of speed – that is right up my alley. Also, being behind the wheel is a perfect place for a sort of meditative reflection. While there’s a job to do that requires focus, it also allows me to allocate a portion of my thoughts to a more relaxed state. And after a good long drive, I always feel refreshed.
As a car enthusiast, do you miss the feelings and sounds of combustion engines when driving electric vehicles?
Not really. I think for some people this might be the case because it’s all we’ve known. In this new landscape, as we transition to electric vehicles, the thrill of everything that is associated with conventional combustion, will be replaced with the sense of satisfaction, responsibility, duty, purpose and meaning.
For Audi, traveling in a car is not just about getting from A to B. It’s about creating personal, meaningful experiences. That is certainly something that you as an actor can also claim for yourself.
Absolutely. As an actor, the audience is our number one priority. The most rewarding aspect of being an actor is having a lasting impact on people beyond their time in the theater. When you go home and interact with your family, if the experience stays with you and is something you’re still talking about and thinking about, that’s truly satisfying. I believe this is similar to the driving experience, where memorable moments can linger long after the journey has ended.

What do you think has been holding people back from getting electric vehicles?
Not too long ago, electric vehicles first entered the market with less appealing designs and limited range. So I guess, many people had concerns about both the performance of the vehicle itself and the charging capabilities. However, they have been improving rapidly year after year, which is exciting. That’s what I find most fascinating about electric vehicles; the pace of their evolution is remarkable. It’s an exciting time to be a car enthusiast.
The Audi Q6 e-tron offers in-car entertainment and connected screens for passengers. Do you think such feature will enhance the overall travel experience?
Absolutely. It’s not just important, but it’s one more element of luxury that sets Audi apart. The ability to enjoy entertainment at that level in your car is something that’s new and special. I'm definitely a fan of the high-quality screen in the passenger area. It’s amazing to watch films while on the go. This feature elevates the riding experience when I'm in the passenger seat.

If everyone makes this choice, the collective impact of these small steps can amount to significant positive change. With rapid advancements in EV technologies, including charging possibilities, there are now fewer and fewer reasons for not making the transition to electric vehicles.
Do you believe that new technologies can play a crucial role in not only enhancing the overall driving experience but also improving other aspects such as safety and connectivity?
Innovations in the automotive industry are happening at a rapid rate. New technologies in cars are extremely important. When you’re in your car, driving safely and protecting both your passengers and others on the road is the top priority. Any technology that increases safety, allowing you to focus on the road, is a step in the right direction. So, integrating smart technology into cars is not just a luxury; it’s an absolute necessity.
